• THE LOWDOWN — In EWF, where both Melina and Shelly were starting out, their characters (Kyra and Desire) feuded as quarrelsome sisters. They had their first matches against each other. Desire’s ally Threat aided her in many of her conquests, as did Melina’s friend Krazy KC (EWF World Champion).
• THE ENCOUNTERS — They had several matches against one another, even teaming up once, although that didn’t go as planned:
••• MAY 18TH, 2002 - KYRA VS. DESIRE — This was each of their first match in EWF. After Kyra secured the victory for herself with a rollup pin, Threat and his crew came out, laying out Kyra with a powerbomb. Later in the show, Kyra got her revenge, taking down Threat with a monkey flip from the corner. [PHOTOS]
••• MAY 25TH, 2002 - KYRA VS. DESIRE — Their second match showcased more action than the previous bout, featuring no interference from either girl’s corner. [PHOTOS]
••• JANUARY 5TH, 2003 - KYRA & ?? VS. DESIRE & THREAT — Kyra and her partner (name unknown) defeated Desire & Threat, who later went on to win EWF’s Tag Team Championship. [PHOTOS]
••• JANUARY 25TH, 2003 - KYRA & DESIRE VS. A MASKED MAN – Kyra and Desire pair up, forming an unlikely team to face a masked man during an EWF luchadore special. Every wrestler competing that night wore masks, including Kyra and Desire. While the two worked together well during the match, and even earned the victory. But it was after the match that the real sparks flew. Desire and Kyra got into a fist fight that had to be broken up by officials. So much for working well together. [PHOTOS]
••• APRIL 25TH, 2003 - UPW ENTERTAINMENT OVERLOAD — Following an Erica Porter/Savvy match, a brawl breaks out, in which all of the UPW women clear from the back and attack one another. Kyra and Halloween Barbie (aka Desire) pair off and have to be ripped apart by a team of referees. [PHOTOS]
• NOW? — Shelly, after being released by the WWE, is apart of TNA’s upstart women’s division. A future feud between the two seems unlikely, but stranger things have happened! |
