• WHAT? — “We Own the Night” (2007), a film about a nigthclub owner, formerly extranged from his law enforcement family, who tries to help them in their narcotics inverstigations.
• WHO? – Amada Juarez, the girlfriend of Bobby (Joaquin Phoenix), who becomes entangled in the danger. She is played by Eva Mendes.
• WHY? – First appearing to be merely arm candy for Bobby Green, she develops emotionally when the matter becomes more dangerous. She matures from a night club owner’s girlfriend to a woman who is desperate for survival. Aside the her character, which can be both sharp-tongued and caring like Melina, she also has a similar ethnic background to her, so she could fit in that role well.
• PLOT? – A New York nightclub manager tries to save his brother and father from Russian mafia hit men.
